Dear Maggie, I am writing to give my assessment of the care my Mom has received at Ocean View Homes III. I had hoped to do this after 6 months, but work, travel and a fund-raising dinner that I prepared precluded that. Now that I have retired, I am able to address the important things that were set aside during the months of May and June. Now, for Mom's care. I am 100% pleased with the care that Mom has received. Mom had a hard time adjusting to the move, but your staff helped her get adjusted quickly, and helped me too. I wasn't sure how I should behave- call/visit frequently or less frequently and they guided me at the various stages of her adjustment. This support was a greatly appreciated by me because I am the only family Mom has. Early on and even still, Mom has said that the staff "treats he like a queen". And I'm sure that is true. Mom has changed so much for the better since she's been there ( since November 2003). Previously, she complained frequently, and was often critical of things. She wouldn't put on decent looking clothes when we went out, even though I asked he to. And She periodically had great difficulty walking. Now she always looks nice when I come to get her, she always praises me, is not critical of anything and always has god things to say about Romel (especially) and Sebastian. And Mom only rarely has difficulty walking, because Romel massages analgesic cream into her knee regularly. I have often thought " I don't know what they do to Mom, but whatever it is, it's really wonderful." Romel has been her primary care giver and I have only praise for him. He is gentle and patient and ready to help in any way he can. He helps Mom get into the car and is frequently at the door to greet he when she returns. Sebastian is also gently and patient with both Mom and me. He has been very supportive of me and is also always ready to help with anything we need. Philip is also appreciated. He played his guitar and sang for us when I brought Mom back from and outing. Both Mom and I enjoyed it very much. "Jimmy" is a real joy. He can make anyone smile. Staff at the Medical Center where Mom used to be, recommended your home to me, and I am very grateful for their suggestion. I can't imagine Mom being happier at any other place. Yours sincerely, Janace Pierce

He's a gem, and Alice really appreciates him in every way. Again, many thanks from us all. Marjorie and Andre Rossfelder December 31, 2002 ______________________________________________ Dear Maggie, Thank you for allowing my father to be a resident at your lovely home and for watching out for him while he was there. We appreciate the quality of care that he received, and know how difficult it was for the caregivers. Thank you again for your caring assistance to us and to Dad. Sincerely, Beth Sundheim September, 24, 2003 _____________________________________________ Dear Maggie, Again, many, many thanks for all the kindness you and your family afford dear little Alice, and the great care Sebastian gives hourly. It is very much appreciated. Sincerely, Marjorie Rossfelder June 1, 2003 ______________________________________________ Walnut Creek, September 9, 2003 To Whom it may concern, The administrator Maggie and staff of Ocean View Homes gave much comfort, as well as excellent care to my aunt Vera Warden who resided there over five years. She felt very much "at home" with you and it afforded me, her niece, the necessary peace of mind knowing that she was so well cared for. I also want to single out the services of Melinda who went out of her way to keep her as comfortable as possible the last few months of her life. I would gladly recommend your board and care facility to anyone needing to avail themselves of such services and wish you continued success in caring for the seniors entrusted to you care, Sincerely, Ellen Baer Holocaust Survivor __________________________________________________ Dear Maggie, The staff at Avenida Mirola, are doing an excellent job. I don't know what mother would do without Sebastian! Rommel is also very kind. These are very difficult times for us all, and I thank you again for all your efforts. Most Sincerely, Marjorie Rossfelder _______________________________________________
Dear Maggie, Thank you for your and your staff's excellent care of my father during his six-month stay at Ocean View Homes. In the months before he was admitted there, he endured a series of emergency room visits and hospitalizations. But with the healthy meals and exercise appropriate to his age and condition that he received at Ocean View, his health improved dramatically. He has not needed hospitalization or emergency care since entering your facility, and we attribute that directly to the care and attention provided there. He has moved to Los Angeles to be closer to his family, but he still speaks of his caretakers at Ocean View with much appreciation, and we will always remember Ocean View with gratitude. Sincerely, Dr. Clifford A. Megerle Dr. Brenda P. Megerle __________________________________________________
