Our Philosophy of Care We believe that our seniors will receive a better quality of care in a real home setting. A home setting that they have been used to all their lives. We understand that our seniors have made great contributions to society through their talents and their capabilities. Talents and capabilities that may have diminished, due to memory loss and other challenges. Now in the winter of their lives, it is our responsibility to contribute to their lives as they have to ours. We feel that institutionalizing our seniors, except under extreme situations, would be contrary to the hopes and dreams they have held in their younger years. In fact, in a recent survey done on older adults over the age of 70, it has become evident that their greatest fear is to be placed in an institution by their family members when they become older and more frail. The happy condition and emotional improvement of senior residents that have been placed under our care, who came to us from large institutional facilities has contributed in great part in shaping our philosophy. We try are best to create an atmosphere of affection and familiarity. This affection and familiarity is in large measure why our residents feel so good and
comfortable about themselves and their surroundings. They are relaxed, content,
confident and happy to the highest levels they can be. |
